Just finished three books.

The Illustrated Man was a series of nice and simple stories. I liked that Bradbury didn’t feel the need to overexplain his world and spent more time on the parable aspect of his world.

The Green Mile turned out to be a sing song sweet comfortable lullaby that was delightfully predictable in a comforting way. Kind of reminded me of Frailty in the way it was predictable. Comforting and sweet and just an honestly wonderful story.

Nicky Deuce was a gift my son got for the holidays and wasn’t interested in at all. This has a certain tragedy to it, as I think he would enjoy the cute simple story. Very quick read and very pat story. All good guys, no really bad guys. Fun.

So not quite up to date on my goals of a book a week for my 52 books this year, but not sucking totally.

I’ve always liked Bradbury as well.

I’ve read other pieces by Bradbury, but it was such a tidy collection. I’m trying with my 52 books to explore more genre work. Try to break out of my classic literature rut.

We will see how it goes.
